Event Overview

In the second event of the ILSP: LSC Workshop Series on Gender, Law, and Society, Burmese Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Esther Htusan discusses the gendered impact of the rise of religious fundamentalism and populist nationalism in Myanmar. Having worked to uncover and disrupt human trafficking networks in Southeast Asia, including those exploiting Rohingya women, Htusan will share her insights on the threats facing women in vulnerable communities and the impact of the crisis on women’s rights advocacy in Myanmar. The workshop will be moderated by Yee Htun, Lecturer on Law and Clinical Instructor at the International Human Rights Clinic.
